Obsessed With Busyness
Published June 21st, 2007 in Busy, Life, Thoughts.Hi, how are you doing lately?
You know, as usual, very busy.
We seem to enjoy being busy, or at least, telling others that we are busy. We got used to rushing from one meeting to another. We feel insecure to part with our mobile phone for 15 mins. We call technical support if the Blackberry is not showing new message for a short while.
Sometimes I wonder why we are so busy?
And I reckon for some, “busyness” is translated into importance; for some, it balances their loneliness; while for some others, it serves as a safety net, which shields them from taking a hard look at their lives. And I reckon for many busy people, it’s all of the above.
We are busy and may be we are lost. BTW do we know what we are busy for, and why?

- Some people are busy, because they are glutton for work. they are pursuing their dreams.
- Some people are busy temporarily, because they are intended to be busy ( to avoid being bothered, forget some unhappy memories…etc)
For the above reasons, I think it is still positive, because they know what they are doing.
But some are forced to work busily (e.g pressure from your boss and you don’t know how to say no)… and most miserable is because of psycological problem (as you mentioned, feeling insecurity). For this, it is better to consult a doctor or seeking help from friends/family.
Let’s call our friends and get them out when we find them busy on the negative sides. Wait for your call ^_^
