It happens that today I read an article written by Ron White, who talked about the family backgrounds of some of the most famous US presidents: Nixon won an award from Harvard but his family couldn't affort to send him there.  Ford was an adopted child.  His born father was abusive.  Carter was the first member of his family ever go to colleage.  His father was a peanut farmer. Reagan was the son of an alcoholic. Clinton's father died in an automobile accident three months before he was born.  His stepfather was a gambler and alcoholic who regularly abused his wife....

What if they believed that their life were already doomed?</description>
