I fall in love with “Snap Shots”  the first time I saw how it worked on my previous site at wordpress.com as a pre-installed function.  It worked like a charm!

Have not been able to get over it since (well…), but, due to my very limited computer literacy, I have not been able to introduce it back after moving here.

Gathered enough courage and tried it again today - Finally, I figured out what I had done wrong:  NOT pressing the activate button on the toolbar of my dashboard after uploading its plugin… (Don’t laugh!  Hay, I said don’t laugh!!!)

Welcome back Snap!

Let’s get back to business…

What is Snap Shots?

“Snap Shots” is a nice little tool installed on a website that enhances links with visual previews of the destination site, interactive excerpts of Wikipedia articles, MySpace profiles, IMDb profiles and Amazon products, display inline videos, RSS, MP3s, photos, stock charts and more.

Snap Shots @ Shine With Grace

See the little conversation-cloud buttons next to the hyper-linked contents on Shine With Grace?  They are the Snap Shots buttons.  You can get a preview of the website/blog/product etc. mentioned (hyper-linked) by simply pointing your cursor at the little cloud and WOW the snap shot of that particular website shows!  You are now allowed to ”look ahead” before deciding if you want to follow a link or not; and check the information you need without leaving our site!!!

Very nice, right?

P.S.

Special thanks to Ajay of Ajay- On the Road called Life for creating the plugin for Snap Shots which works so seamlessly at wordpress hosted sites and Guy Kawasaki, (author of “The Art of the Start”)  of How to Change the Worldfor mentioning SnapShots in his blog article “Three Cool Things” which reminds me to install it back to this site.

It is indeed a good plugin, but I find it to be quite bugging for users…

At least in my case, I find it a little annoying and it decreases the likeness to hover/click links.

Hi. Thanks for the comment. Hope you won’t hesitate to come back…

I would like to give it a try - and considering to add a buttom for the users to choose - but, again, it involves some php/ccs/html… alteration so I really need to look into it.

Anyhow, thanks for letting me know your views.
