Art On Sunday - The “Women In Art” Video: Is There A Formula For Beauty?
Published August 19th, 2007 in Films, Art.Stumbled upon this fascinating video some days ago which collaged female portraits from the last 500 years of Western Art into a continuous film. Awesome work.
Is there a formula for beauty? It’s particularly interesting to see the female protraited in the modern cubism and expressionism paintings (such as those by Matisse and Picasso) towards the end of the video. Whole new way of interpretation…
BTW, 2 mins would be too haste for appreciating all those important paintings in art history. Highly recommend you to visit http://www.maysstuff.com/womenid.htm for the complete list of artists and paintings.
Backgroud Music: Bach’s Sarabande from Suite for Solo Cello No. 1 in G Major, BWV 1007 performed by Yoyo Ma.
