Blogging 2 1/2 Months - Some Thoughts And The New Moves
Published August 31st, 2007 in Gratitude, Happiness, Blogs, Blogging, Thoughts.Three months ago I have not heard of Problogger, TechCrunch, John Chow and John Cow… I have heard of blogging though, and read some, and thought that a blog was basically a diary that was published online for public viewing, while most of the readers were the blogger’s friends. In a seminar that I didn’t intend to attend, a whole new world was revealed to me, and my life somehow changed a bit since then - I became a member of the blogosphere.
Bloggers become friends
Have written a couple of posts reflecting on the lessons learnt in blogging at here, here and here and therefore am not going to repeat the stories. Nevertheless, one thing that I won’t mention enough is how grateful I’m for entering the blogosphere, particularly for discovering so many great minds from around the globe, having conversations with them and even making friends with some. In these couple of days I’ve kept wondering if not because of blogging would this be possible? Maybe yes, but, very unlikely.

Friends become bloggers
Bugged by the non-stoppable updates of my blogging adventure enough, my ”real life” friends are turning into bloggers. Sophie of We We Wet Wet joined this train not long ago and is already doing super fine. So together we are now exploring what Stumble Upon is all about and how the affiliate progams actually work. A real life blogging companion… Real fun!
Blogging - Experiments and Consolidation
Starting from scratch at ground zero, every blog post, every page, every button in itself is an experiment, and the whole progress never fails to amaze me - especially when what I think would work, didn’t; while what I didn’t put particular high expectations, won a jackpot. And somehow this is so similar to what we experience in life - so what can I do? Give my best every time, and enjoy the process anyhow. You just never know…
Besides blogging, my professional life has also entered a new phrase. Resigned from my corporate job earlier this month, my new venture is gradually taking shape and the incorporation is at its final stage. It is so exciting while hectic, and there is so much work to do…
And I am feeling that maybe it’s good time for a review and some consolidation, without stretching myself and this blog too thin. What I plan to do is posting less frequent but aiming at producing better quality posts with a clearer focus. In order to introduce a more sleek alignment to Shine, one major move will be putting the ”film on Saturday” and “art of Sunday” series on hold. When appropriate I will still talk about movies and art, but probably in a context and format that is different from what it is now. Let’s see how it goes.
Simply thrilled…
Lucky me for having won the competition from Tom’s blog, Life Goal Action for promoting his work. I have mentioned Tom’s blog more than once here for his posts are really inspiring, which always make me think. Therefore winning the prize for writing about what I enjoy reading is a real bonus!
Some days ago I’ve been invited to do an interview at the BlogInterviewer.com. The best thing of the interview is it gave me the chance to reflect on my blogging journey. And, the site is also a great place to discover many other interesting blogs. Do visit when have time.
