A Nice Short Story On “Putting Down & Letting Go”
Published September 18th, 2007 in Life.Two monks were travelling in the mountain area. At a river bank, they found a beautiful girl standing at the side, having difficulty crossing the river by herself. The senior monk approached the girl and offered, “Madam, if you don’t mind, let me help you cross the river.” The girl gladly agreed and let the monk carry her across the river on his shoulder. At the other side of the river, the monks and the girl said goodbye and went their separate ways. Hours later, the two monks had the conversation below:
Senior, why did you carry the girl across the river? Master said we should not get close to the opposite sex.
Little brother, you are the one who has not put down the girl yet.
