are you ready

Are you ready?

You just fell out of a relationship.

Feeling sad,and insecure, and lonely, you blamed yourself day and night for screwing up.  You told yourself maybe afterall you couldn’t quite handle a relationship.

In order to cheer you up, your best friend bought you to a party.  You have not dreamt of it, but right in the party, you met your dreamt girl.

Did you approach her?  Did you strike up a conversation with her? Did you develop a relationship with her?

No you did’t. You just let her pass you by.

You were not ready.  Not ready yet.

Being at the right place at the right time doesn’s matter too much if you’re not ready.

~ Johnny Carson

You had some spare cash, and would look for ways to invest the money for long term gain.

A stock with high potential went public.  You kind of knew that the stock had some potentials, but since you were not familiar with that particular industry, you decided not to invest in that stock.  In 2 years time, the stock price doubled.  You missed your Google gain.

You had the money.  You were looking for investment opportunities.  You had the chance to invest during IPO.  Why you missed out?

You were not ready.  Not ready yet.

Chances favours prepared minds.

You have found an excellent product.  You know that it is going to hit the Christmas shopping season.  You work hard building your retail store, setting up the system, employing extra hands.  The only problem was, the shipping of your product log slipped.  You missed the golden shopping season.

You were not ready.  Not ready yet.

Be ready when opportunity comes.  Luck is the time when preparation and opportunity meet.

~ Roy D. Chaplin Jr.

Getting ready

Get ready - get ready for the opportunity.

Fundamentally, plan ahead, get the necessary credentials, connections, qualifications…

More importantly, get yourself ready psychologically.

No matter how talented/good-looking/wealthy you are, if you are not psychologically well prepared for an opportunity, you either fail to identify it when it arises, or you fail to grasp it even you recognise it.

Believe that you deserve it

Most importantly, you have to believe from your heart and soul that you deserve the good fortune - the ideal job, your dream partner, the golden investment opportunity…

You have to believe that it is not too good to be true to you.

You have to be brave enough to embrace it.

Otherwise, you would look for fault in that particular opportunity.  You would say no to it, or you would drive yourself to fail the test over the course, and you will limit yourself.

Get ready - from the belief level.
